Simulating muscle transient response in continuous spatially distributed model.
Keywords:
model, muscle, transient response, step length change, molecular mechanismAbstract
An important dynamical characteristic of muscle is its transient response. The interpretation of these characteristics can shed light on the molecular mechanism of the muscle contraction. The existing mechanisms are not clear. Based on previously proposed spatially distributed model, in this paper, we simulated the transient response of halfsarcomere to a step change in length. We consider a number of alternative mechanisms, discuss their relationship with the available experimental data, as well as existing theoretical mechanisms and models.References
